2011 Honda Accord Coupe Review

Honda Accord Coupe Review

It takes what’s great about the Accord Sedan – comfort, quality and refinement – and wraps it in a stylish package that shares no exterior sheet metal with the more functional and family-friendly four-door.

Inside, the Honda Accord Coupe has the same dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and front seats, but that’s about it. Everything inside the Accord operates with refinement and thoughtful attention to detail.

Attractive, exuding quality, and offering surprising functionality, the Honda Accord Coupe is also fun to drive. Comfortable to grip, the steering wheel features paddle shifters that are easy to find and use except when shuffle steering through the tightest of hairpins.

Understeer, not surprisingly, is the Accord Coupe’s handling Achilles’ heel, but if you get your speed scrubbed before turn-in, the car dives eagerly into a curve, and the P235/45R18 Michelin Pilot tires grip well enough that you can almost rotate the car. The Accord Coupe’s 3.5-liter V6 accelerates the car in energetic fashion. Around town, the Honda Accord Coupe features a firm but not uncomfortable ride quality and on the highway it drives like a great long-distance tourer. Overall, we liked the Accord Coupe quite a bit. So add fuel-efficient to the list of favorable adjectives describing the 2011 Honda Accord Coupe.

The 2011 Honda Accord Coupe is very closely related to the Honda Accord Sedan and is thus covered together with the Accord Sedan under a single review.
However the two body styles are remarkably close in size; the Honda Accord Coupe is about three inches shorter, with a wheelbase about two inches shorter than the sedan.
Like the Accord Sedan, the Coupe gets lightly revised front and rear detailing, along with a revised instrument panel for 2011.
