2011 Ford Focus Review

The 2011 Ford Focus is running out the clock, as the automaker prepares to introduce an all-new Focus lineup for the 2012 model year. The 2011 Focus is evidence of that long life cycle: the styling's a mashup of new themes appliqued to a dated silhouette. The Focus Coupe, which suffered even more ungainly styling, has been euthanized for 2011.

The powertrain in the front-drive Focus mates a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual. Last year, Ford added standard anti-lock brakes to the Focus lineup, along with stability control. The Focus also has a USB port for music players.
There’s no more, “Ford builds a better car in Europe...” Ford thinks we apparently don’t like small wagons. As usual, the Focus Wagon will be sold in Europe with diesel engine options we don’t get. Ford has the option to add other engine choices in the U.S., such as the 180-bhp 1.6-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, but I’d rather have the 250-bhp (or more) 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that’s destined for the Focus RS.

The Focus RS could become the next SVT Focus, but Ford hasn’t decided on a world name for its performance-branded products. By the time the Focus RS/SVT is named, we’ll probably be seeing the 2012 Ford Focus Electric.

The car is European styled and comes from the European Ford Mondeo platform.
The 2011 Focus takes a small car and makes it feel upscale. This car will even offer the automatic parking option, offered on some Lincoln models already.

Under the hood of the new Ford Focus is a 2.0 liter direct injected 4 cylinder engine. The Ford Focus is slowly creepy it’s way up as a higher class car, as the Ford Fiesta becomes the low end model car for Ford.

I’ve always loved the Ford Focus and have driven one since 2001, so this new 2011 Ford Focus looks like a real winner and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel.
