Renault Modus for swapping crossover

Crossovers have a big bite taken out of the market for small MPVs and there would also benefit from Renault. The successor of the mode will therefore be based on the highly successful Nissan Juke.

The success of the Juke, the compact crossover from Nissan, has not gone unnoticed and manufacturers do everything possible to profit in this growing market. The high sales in this segment will be at the expense of the compact MPV. The shrinkage in this market, both in sales as models, is undeniable and now Renault is the next great player who will make the transition.

The Mode in 2004 came on the market as a large version of the Clio and was originally touted for its versatility. He has now had its day as the European sales have been a downward trend, from 166,858 units in 2005 to 48,302 in 2011. Time to the helm to throw. The new crossover, the mode will be replaced, strongly based on the Juke of corporate partner Nissan, but it is unclear to what extent the technology and motorization one-on-one will find their way to the Renault, whose styling is probably the line of the concept Captur will follow.

The competitors have meanwhile also been busy. Opel presented in Geneva Mocha, Peugeot is working on an enhanced 208 (2008) and was recently the Citroen C4 Air cross at dealers within driving.
