The Rio5 is Kia's version of a sporty European hatchback. The KIA Rio5 SX has metal-finished dashboard accents and red stitching on the steering wheel, gearshift knob and door panels.
All 2011 Kia Rio models are powered by a 110-horsepower, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, matched with either a standard 5-speed manual or available 4-speed automatic transmission, and all are front-wheel drive. With the 5-speed manual, the KIA Rio returns 28 mpg city, 34 mpg highway in the EPA cycle. The Rio does slightly better with the automatic transmission, returning 36 mpg on the highway.
The KIA Rio5 comes in LX and sporty SX trim levels. The KIA Rio5 SX is equipped with unique sport cloth seats, leather wrapped steering wheel/shift knob, Bluetooth wireless technology, power windows with driver's one-touch auto-down feature, power door locks and tweeter speakers.
The key safety features include dual front advanced airbags, front seat mounted side airbags, full length curtain airbags, front active headrests, three-point seatbelts for all seats, 4-wheel antilock brakes and LATCH.
