The 2012 Hyundai Veloster is an all-new model. Hyundai has already impressed the automotive industry with the Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Sonata, two sedans that offer upscale features at affordable prices. For 2012, Hyundai follows that principle, but hopes to appeal to a younger crowd with the Hyundai Veloster. Hyundai calls the Veloster a sporty coupe, with three doors and a hatchback trunk. Inside, the Veloster offers standard Bluetooth and USB connectivity, features that are becoming commonplace for affordable small cars. The Veloster’s engine, a 1.6-liter four-cylinder, also pushes the envelope. Some automotive journalists have tested the 2012 Hyundai Veloster, but they can’t publish their reviews until Hyundai lifts its information embargo.
Hyundai hasn’t released pricing information for the 2012 Hyundai Veloster, but it should start at about $17,000.
The Hyundai Veloster unique design gets inspiration from a high-performance sport bike. In front is an aggressive form of the front grille Hyundai signature hexagonal, detailing hood, and only Hyundai-signature LED position lights. 2012 Hyundai Veloster dynamic design of the rear hatch glass has a distinctive, dual chrome exhaust tips centered and lower fascia that complements the black front panel statement.
The new Gamma 1.6-liter four-cylinder Hyundai engine is the smallest use of gasoline direct injection . GDI technology that helps deliver an estimated highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, lower emissions and higher reliability.
The GDI technology allowed Hyundai engineers to create an engine that is powerful, low fuel consumption and less emissions, said Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. powertrain director, John Juriga.
Hyundai doesn’t officially announce yet the 2012 Hyundai Veloster price. We’ll update soon after Hyundai confirm its price.The front-wheel-drive 2012 Hyundai Veloster will be powered by a 1.6-liter direct-injected inline-4 that’s good for 138 horsepower. Hyundai is projecting a 40 mpg highway rating. Options will include chrome exterior trim, foglights, a panoramic sunroof, 18-inch wheels, Pandora Internet radio, a rearview camera, navigation and an upgraded audio system.
