2011 Acura ZDX

The Acura ZDX features a distinctive grille shape, sharply flared front fenders, dramatically rising character lines sloping rearward along the sides and an artfully sloping rear deck. Another distinctive feature of the Acura ZDX are the bi-functional High-Intensity Dischargelow and high beam headlights. The advantages of HID headlamps include greater lighting power, daylight type lighting temperature, and reduced power consumption.

The engine uses a more rigid cylinder block, high-strength crankshaft, heavy-duty connecting rods, high compression-ratio pistons, cylinder heads with improved cooling, exclusive camshaft specs, a 2-rocker arm design VTEC valvetrain system, heavy-duty intake valve springs, a unique EGR system, special long-reach spark plugs, a large throttle body, and much more to get the job done.

The Acura ZDX’s greatest competitors are the BMW X6 xDrive35i and the Infiniti FX35. Customers will have to choose from three trim levels: ZDX $45,645, ZDX with Technology Package ($50,145), and ZDX with Advance Package ($56,195).

Despite that sloping roofline, the Acura ZDX offers an adequate amount of cargo storage. With the rear seat up, the ZDX offers 26.3 cubic feet of rear cargo space. When first inspecting a ZDX one will face Acura's new signature front grille. The ZDX also features Acura's quad-pack gauge cluster.

Fuel economy for the Acura ZDX is rated at 16/22 mpg city/highway.
The Acura ZDX is available in three trim levels -- ZDX, ZDX with Technology Package and ZDX with Advance Package. The base model Acura ZDX will come very well equipped -- sporting a panoramic glass roof, hand stitched leather, Bluetooth, power tailgate and CD stereo with USB and iPod connectivity.

While the Comfort setting doesn’t seem tight enough for city driving, the Sport mode makes a relaxed drive too terse. The Acura ZDX is light on its feet, too, belying the 4400 pound curb weight. Outfitted for curly country roads and snow-saturated passes, the Acura ZDX is at home in the tough stuff. That’s when the ZDX’s hybrid combination of SUV and luxury car are most apparent.

2011 Acura ZDX Summary
For a daily-driver or a long-distance trekker, the Acura ZDX is ably outfitted at birth. The base model is appropriately priced and adequately outfitted, but upgrade packages can drive the vehicle’s cost out of sight.
