2011 Audi Q7 Reviews

The 2011 Audi Q7 boasts one high-powered and one low-powered 3.0T engine. If it's power you want, the 2011 Audi Q7 won't disappoint. While the departure of the previous two engines may raise some eyebrows, the fact is that the 3.0-liter TFSI engine - available in low-power and high-power versions - should more than suffice for most drivers. The high-power 3.0T gets 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque; the low-power 3.0T gets 272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Direct fuel injection ups the ante, as well, while the 8-speed automatic transmission is a perfect match for either engine.

The exquisite design, craftsmanship and style that drivers have come to expect in Audi vehicles is abundant in the 2011 Audi Q7. Estimated fuel economy ratings for this vehicle are 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the freeway.

We recently sampled both variations of the Q7 3.0T around Ingested, and appreciated the smooth power delivery as well as the new eight-speed automatic transmission's wide spread of gear ratios. In high-output trim, the 3.0T is down 17 hp versus the old 4.2-liter V-8, but matches the 325 lb-ft torque rating. The base 3.0T's 272 hp can't quite match the old 3.6-liter V-6's 280 hp, but the 295 lb-ft of torque betters the 266 lb-ft offered by the previous, normally aspirated V-6. Speaking of the diesel, it too receives the eight-speed automatic for 2011. Emissions regulations mean diesel exhaust fluid, known as Ad Blue to Audi customers, is required at regular service intervals.

The 2011 Audi Q7 gets extensive changes. The 3.0T Premium and Premium Plus make 272 horsepower, while the 3.0T S line Prestige offers 333 hp.
