Cadillac Ciel concept
It’s razor sharp. The Cadillac Ciel is simply gorgeous. It oozes character and style from every angle. With chrome exhaust tips and LED taillights at the back, not to mention the chrome trim which runs the length of the concept car, the Caddy scores top marks in the looks department. And if its powertrain makes it to production, it’ll impress performance-wise too. Under the sleek bonnet lies a 3.6-litre direct injection V6 with a hybrid system using a lithium-ion battery making a combined total of 425bhp and 583Nm of torque.
Cadillac unveiled an impressive convertible, the Cadillac Ciel concept, at Pebble Beach on Thursday. This four-door and four-seater convertible may be the first glimpse of the brand’s future design direction, according to Clay Dean, global design director for Cadillac.
This concept is designed at GM Design’s North Hollywood Design Center. The car features 22-inch milled billet aluminum wheels wrapped in 265/35R22 tires. The interior is designed with Italian olive wood, hand-tipped leather, machined aluminum and nickel-plated trim. The The Cadillac Ciel may be the range topping flagship of Cadillac in future and surely, signifies a positive change in design and engineering of Cadillac future models.
Cadillac hosted a delicious dinner to match the introduction. It’s a modern throwback to the elegant days of motoring in a large car, enjoying the cruise. It’s a timeless classic. The The Cadillac Ciel is a 4-door convertible with rear suicide doors and a superb technology interface for the passengers. The lines are show stopping, an instant classic. Numerous features include ultra-modern digital display, sloping bolsters on the seats for easier ingress, power assisted transmission shifter, LED ambient lighting, zippers in the doors, even pull-out blankets for the three passengers.
Definitely not an extension of the “Transformer” styling of the CTS Coupe, big congratulations must go to General Motors Vice President Global Design Ed Welburn and Cadillac Global Design Director Clay Dean. The Cadillac Ciel speaks volumes.
